Description
A blue suede leather upper and a sole made with a mix of natural jute and rubber. Designed to be worn effortlessly on the narrow streets of those small Italian islands that made “La Dolce Vita” famous around the world. An intense smell of salt water, rosemary plants and lemon trees, these are the visual postcards signed by “Inguriatt”. The intense dark blue is a perfect match for light beige linen pants - a bit on the comfy side - and a half-open light blue shirt. Linen, obviously.
Construction
Sewn according to the traditional method that made Espadrilles famous the world over. The layer of the sole made with natural jute is stitched together with the lower layer made with rubber. Then, the upper of the shoe is hand-stitched to the sole with the Ojal stitching method.
Color
Unrefined leather goes through the traditional process called “tanning”. And is treated so to prevent it from decomposition or loss in flexibility. Afterwards, the leather is put in a rotating wood barrel with water and blue coloring solution for dyeing. Water is then warmed up to 60°C to help the color bind to the leather for a lasting finish.
Material
Suede calf leather comes from the innermost layer of leather, which is worked through buffing: it consists of abrading the surface, which reveals its typical velvety effect.
Sole
The iconic sole of the Espadrilles. The natural jute is first manually interwoven and then placed under a sole-shaped stamp. Then the sole goes through a thermic treatment with the aim of holding the right shape.
