It's a Penny Loafer that acts like a Tassel Loafer. It takes the best from each style: a very tapered shape and the blake-rapid construction, the most refined on the market. With its water-resistant suede leather and leather sole, it’s a dark brown shoe for the versatile man who’s looking for flexibility and charm at the same time.
Construction
The most valuable construction is called blake-rapid. It’s characterized by a double binding (blake and rapid, precisely): while the first attaches upper, lining and insole; the second one secures the insole and outside sole together. The shoes are therefore easy to resole.
Color
Unrefined leather goes through the traditional process called “tanning”. And is treated so to prevent it from decomposition or loss in flexibility. Afterwards, the leather is put in a rotating wood barrel with water and dark brown coloring solution for dyeing. Water is then warmed up to 60°C to help the color bind to the leather for a lasting finish.
Material
Suede calf leather comes from the innermost layer of leather, which is worked through buffing: it consists of abrading the surface, which reveals its typical velvety effect.
Sole
Made with real leather, our soles respect and pay homage to tradition. They’re made from the best bovine leather in the market and gain their distinct color through “vegetal tanning”. And, they’re made to last over time.
