Artisanal Tassel Loafers in black cordovan with a waxed leather sole, to be worn all year round, both for formal occasions and with more casual outfits. Completed using the Goodyear method, they are made to be long-lasting and durable. The leather is among the finest, requiring slow and precise working techniques, capable of enhancing the raw material. Construction
Goodyear welting is made with a strip of leather, called "welt", that runs around the entire perimeter of the shoe (this is what makes them recognisable, as you'll see) and is sewn to the upper and midsole directly on the shoetree; craftsmen then apply a layer of cork, making each step comfortable. The welt is now sewn to the sole, in perfect union with the rest of the shoe. Thus, the shoe is resoleable; see? It really is made to last a long time.
Color
Unrefined leather goes through the traditional process called “tanning”. And is treated so to prevent it from decomposition or loss in flexibility. Afterwards, the leather is put in a rotating wood barrel with water and black coloring solution for dyeing. Water is then warmed up to 60°C to help the color bind to the leather for a lasting finish.
Sole
Made with real leather, our soles respect and pay homage to tradition. They’re made from the best bovine leather in the market and gain their distinct color through “vegetal tanning”. And, they’re made to last over time.
Material
Cordovan is among the finest of leathers, it comes from the rump of the horse, requiring slow and precise workmanship. It’s one of those materials that ages better over time and, if properly cared for, can truly last a lifetime.
